Hello, my name is Oen Kennedy.

I am a musician with 25 years of teaching experience.

My primary instruments are guitar and piano, though I also play and teach hand drumming, bass guitar, tongue drum, and singing.

I also teach what I call "understanding music". Too often I have encountered students with decent music reading and playing skills, who don't have much grasp of chord structures, or the relationship between chords and scales for example. Understanding these aspects of music can open doors to creating your own music. What could be better?

Over the last 25 years I have developed direct and efficient teaching methods which will give you the tools to become your own musician and which will help you to find your inspiration.

Two other areas I love teaching are songwriting and performance. As a singer-songwriter with over a hundred of my own songs and the experience of playing with and opening up for many well known singer-songwriters, I have gathered information which can help you to become a better songwriter and performer.

FInally, I am a nationally certified music therapist with 20 years of experience working in the field of special education. I've done music therapy work with hundreds of clients of all ages and abilities. Here again, it is my job to help you or your child access the creative and positive force of music in a way which is enriching and multi-faceted.
